Our CEO & founder Lee Penson has from the outset set himself some of the highest standards. He trained the hard way after leaving school in Kent to study architecture on a part-time basis, whilst nurturing a rapidly growing role within professional practice leading projects nationally whilst self-flourishing his education. The cross-fertilisation of the professional and educational environments has provided Lee with a wealth of experience for his youth. By the time he qualified at 28 he had over 10 years of professional and creative experience.

He gained a 1st Class Degree with Honours, won the Sheppard Robson Prize for Architecture, was short-listed for the RIBA Bronze Medal and exhibited at the RIBA whilst concluding his Part 1 Exams. His Diploma has a similar ripple to it and he passed his Part 3 Exams with Honours. He was made Partner by his first employer in Kent on the day he qualified, yet quickly moved to London at the age of 30 and 2 years in, single handedly founded PENSON Group.

His commercialism in business and within the industry, his exceptional design talent and gregarious nature self-perpetuated PENSON up to an International status in just 4 years, with enviable commissions reaching Australia, South Africa, America, the middle east and many high profile commissions across the UK. Lee is a frequent guest contributor to the industry's key magazines & websites.

His most recent pinnacles are winning the MIXOLOGY Newcomer of the Year 06 award when PENSON Group was merely 2 years young & also collecting a special award Break Through Talent 07 at FX Magazines International Design Awards this week.

PENSON Group continues the ethos of Lee's 12 year apprenticeship by mixing brutal commercialism with original problem solving and striking design. That! he says, helps to put money into our client's tills.
