BACKGROUND

CISCO Systems commissioned PENSON to design a new HQ for their Emerging Markets business at Bedfont Lakes, Heathrow. This was in competition against some of Europe's most talented & largest architectural firms.

Despite having an economical budget, PENSON has proved the case that with lots of imaginative elbow grease from the designer and team, something special can be created. This HQ is uber functional, incredibly different & revitalising, whilst being genuine to the various countries forming Cisco's emerging client base.

Our CEO sums things up as per usual....."This space is complex in it's solution, but on the other hand incredibly simple. We always strive to find a design idea that is so simple that you wonder why its never been done before. This is it!

Rather than bolting on expensive acoustic solutions which don't look particularly nice, we have collected vibrant fabrics from around the world. These fabrics have been fixed to panels to decorate the space, making it soft, warm, colourful & of course, acoustically well endowed. This is one example of just a few simple yet not so obvious ideas.

The layout is simple and rather than being designed to look great in 2D, we finely tuned the design in 3D. This provided Cisco with a clear "WYSIWYG" scenario, providing them with the confidence to run with our crazy ideas such as having life size glossy Lions in a Cisco HQ. Who in their wildest dreams would suggest such an idea.

Forgive the pun, but this has since proved to be a snag free, on time, on budget "Roaring" success. Enjoy the images".
